Fusion Cores And Rarity?
Hi, so i'm fairly new to fallout (well im actually fairly new to UNDERSTANDING fallout) and i was just wondering if Fusion Cores for the power suits are rechargeable? Or if their super rare?

TL;DR - should i NOT be running around willynilly in this mecha suit? xd

edit: apparently this is false news

If you put points in to the luck perk that finds ammo in containers I think you can find fusion cores while wearing power armor. I rracked up like 40 fusion cores last time I wore my power armor.

Fusion cores are not rechargeable in Fallout 4 unless you have a mod that allows it. They aren't the most common thing, but they aren't rare either. Due to the way ammo spawns, you can sometimes find them in groups of 4 in containers. And you can but them from merchants.

Scrounger has no effect on fusion cores at all. Nor does it have an effect on missiles, mininukes, or DLC ammo types.

ok then you must not be looting enough containers cause I randomly find containers with 4 fusion cores in them.

You'll find loads of them out on your adventures, done 3 play through and never run out even once.

You find more as you gain levels and explore more.

I'm at level 111 and ive got 117 full ones, and Ive spent and sold I dont know how many.

Early in game I only use the power armour to do the early Concord mission. From then on I get around using whatever armour I can find until I reach about level 20. Usually have enough cores by then for the power armour

Remember, early in game you are sometimes much better off just running away then standing and fighting some enemies..

My experience is they can be pretty scarce very early on, but not so scarce that you can't get a sizable surplus late game.

Now, if you're running around in power armor and constantly using a gatling laser, you might run into some problems. But once you get a little bit into the game, you shouldn't have much trouble finding enough to keep your power armor going just fine. I think there's also a couple of perks you can pick up to make them more efficient.

There is a perk very far into the game which allows you to craft fusion cores. A good Pickpocket can lift them from the BOS Knights (there was once a community story about this ) Several perks to reduce the cost of using power armor. I once made a mod allowing Fusion core crafting at a lower player level think I named it "Fusion Core Crafting", but using mods disables achievements. Personally I would put points into Toughness and Endurance, and any other points to the power armor categories. I did an entire playthrough on original release save and had 200+ cores after reaching level 50. Find a Gatling Laser and favorite it... But don't use it. Ammo finding perk will be more favorable, and obviously a Higher Luck always helps. When In doubt RUN. Good luck.

In my experience, they are rather rare in the early game, but once you get above level 20 or 30 - you’ll be tripping over them left and right.

Fusion Cores are relatively hard to come by very early in the game if you don't have the experience to know where they can be found for free. But considering you can buy them from a variety of vendors throughout the game in addition to finding them (not to mention perks extending their use), you'll be swimming in them eventually.

I've never been much of a PA user (prefer the benefits I can get from overall apparel). But when I first started, my tactic was to “discover” the location first before donning PA and Fast Traveling there in order to minimize Fusion Core battery drain. :)

Early game they are harder to come by... but most buildings (aka dungeons) have at least a generator somewhere in them if you need a recharge. Later they start dropping as normal loot and you can pretty much take your armor everywhere.

Power armor in this game really was done right haha.

They're not rechargeable ad are fairly rare in early game so you need to be rather careful with how you use them, but once you start exploring south into Boston, you'll end up with a fair amount of them pretty quickly (and if you want to hunt for them specifically, there's a few resources on the web with maps for where they are guaranteed to spawn). When just starting out, only use the power armor when you need it, but don't hesitate to use it if you do need to.

When travelling...turn on radio and walk. Take in the world...and before you know it...so many cores.

You have perks that boost its duration. Also you can get repair bobblehead from corvega assembly plant. Explore the area, it is easily missable.

Fusion core is nornally final reward of a dungeon in FO4 but as other said here that scrapper perks do caused it to spawn as well on higher level. Otherwise you can purchase it at about 300ish. It is pretty easy to get that kind of money. By that level that is around selling 3-4 weapons.

No, as was said Scrounger (not Scrapper) does absolutely nothing for fusion cores. Finding containers with 4 fusion cores in them has nothing to do with Scrounger at all. Its just how the game works normally.
