Did you do a power armor build in this game and was it fun ?
I am thinking about doing a power armor build, but I am not really sure what weapons to use besides minigun, if shotgun is fun with power armor or what else.

I kinda hesitate because the third person walking in power armor kinda looks goofy instead of being a scary tank and also I don't know if power armor gets annoying later on and than you put 80% of your skills into stuff you need for power armor and nothing else and can't got back from that.

So did you do a power amor character and how fun was it ? did you had your power armor on 24/7 or is it better to do some hybrid character with doing alot on foot and using power armor in certain situations.

What weapons did you use and ya, can you recommend it or not ?

I tend to use PAs only for hard fights. But, I'm not gonna lie. Once I got a bunch of fusion cores, I go ham with it.

Using power armor makes the game way to easy, especially with the hellfire, or xo2 ones. You barely take any damage even on very hard.

Calibrated Shocks in the legs. All the extra carry capacity I can get. Dont really have anything in the arms, I dont do unarmed and all I have atm is the Tesla mods

One thing that happens, and I fell into it, is you can get spoiled with the Jet Pack mod for the torso. Out of all the Torso mods, I personally find that one one of the best.

Helmet I take Recon Sensors. Targeting Hud gets annoying quick, and I feel is OP because it pretty much lights up everything.

I mean thats like 90% of the builds in fallout games pretty quick, stealth, full melee etc. all kinda go pretty OP easily, I was just wondering whats the most fun while being OP

The most fun would be power armor with automatic weapons.

Where would you find all the ammo for using automatic weapons? Even the 500 minigun bullets they give you at the beginning of the game is gone in like 30 seconds of fighting.

Power armor + Tesla cannon go like BBBRRRRRRRRRRRR
lol not my thing tho, i always go for the robot-geek tech-freak build. I think i never used any strenght nor heavy weapons releated build.

i did a power armor run my 2nd play with the Brotherhood. My choice weapon was the spray and prey from Cricket. With max commando and explosive perks its OP.

Catherine Yates my mad scientist character and Caleb Pryce my soldier character were probably the two most fun power armor builds I’ve done in this game.

Catherine Yates having access to the science and armorer perks she’s able to modify power armor to the furthest extent nuclear physicist also prolongs how long fusion cores last.

Caleb on the other hand takes advantage of the pain train and moving target perks to cause discord in a gun fight just by sprinting into enemy’s.

Those perks together nothing humanoid can possibly kill you

Early on and even mid game, i love any weapon with wounding perk, you can wreck pretty much anything in seconds. Deathclaws dont even stand a chance.

Wounding teamed up with the Ricochet perk will kill anything fast.

The only fun I feel like I'd be missing out on is the Pain Train perk which lets you football tackle enemies just by sprinting in armor. Wanted to do an unarmed build based around it but never had the motivation.

Apart from that, frequent maintenance on PA makes me just hoard and collect it for display.
"Oh no my arm broke in this random-ass skirmish on my way to a quest marker. Quick, fast travel back to the red rocket!"
