queston whats the Benfit of GOG Vs Steam?

so. why do people buy the GOG version? of Fallout 4 if they Own it Steam. What are the benefits can someone break down a bit simpler? like what are the befits that GOG's Offer Vs Steam Edition fallout 4 Game of the year Edition? if someone could Easily Explain. that would be helpful. i hear people buy GOG When they even own it on Steam.

GOG has the option to download offline installers so you can back the installers up locally and since GOG sold games don't contain DRM you can play them even if you don't have internet for a long time.

by comparison in steam you can scan your game in the event of issues and it can repair damaged files. i don't know if the GOG installers have that functionality as i have never needed to repair GOG installs.

Buying your games on GOG means you aren't giving money to Steam. Seems like a winner to me.

If you want the freedom to play your game whenever without being chained by a DRM, go GOG. GOG does it the way it USED to be done. It's the one thing that has saved gaming for me. With GOG, what I buy is mine, which is why GOG gets 95 percent of my gaming money and no one else.

In fact I've bought the same game twice cos first it was on steam, then when i heard it was out on GOG, bought the GOG version and only play that!

i never even played my steam version so im perfectly safe when they update it!

Mods have a slight tendency to work better with Steam versions of a game than with GOG versions. This is because of more people owning a Steam version over a GOG version.
