If you haven't updated to Next Gen yet, don't!

What ever bethesda did, they just entirely bricked modded fallout 4. In prior patches, I was able to roll back with no problem, but for some reason after this update, it seems impossible for me to roll back my fallout 4 at all.

This update breaks mods, especially more so with the F4SE (which alot of mods rely on to work in the first place!), and for some reason the game just won't work at all if I do a rollback.

I don't know what bethesda were thinking, but until F4SE and the mods that this game bricked, don't update to next gen! I did and I can't go back

After 9 years it's amazing this still takes people by suprise, updates will allways brick script extender.

Multiple warnings have been given on this forum and by youtubers, as well as guides how to halt the update.

If they havent red any of those, chances are they will read this when it's to late as well no?

$13.39 over at GOG looks like a good deal. Download the files or use galaxcy where you can roll back if you want. Game is not updated on GOG yet.

Bethesda was thinking they wanted to update the game and add a little bit of new content. They don't, and never should, take mods into account when updating their own game.

I have to meany mods downloaded to throw away just for 2 new power armors and guns. Besides considering this game came out in 2015 there are a lot of mods that are long out of development and will never be updated to work on this new update. Honestly seems like a very short sighted update on Bethesda's part since this will brick a lot of good user content. It's a good thing I can launch from F4SE, just wish I could turn updates off on steam.

Well we lost some legacy addons as modders did not re-upload them for SE.
Atleast now most addons will hopefully keep working when Script extender is updated.

Bethesda is garbage, the companion AI is legendarily pathetic and it's pathetic that the game needs to be modded so settlers are capable of making their own beds.

Bethesda hasn't learned for years. Why the hell would they learn anything now? They're not going to. They didn't learn with Starfield either. Writing good or bad aside, that is the limit of the Creation Engine.

Bethesda is NEVER going to change. Elder Scrolls 6 will be even worse than Starfield, and Fallout 4 will be worse than Fallout 76. At least if they stick to tradition and track, that is what will happen. And 76 is still leagues better than Starfield, so that is NOT a good sign!

donno what your talking about op. i fresh install updated then just went and donwloaded a bunch of mods through nexus with the oudated fs4e and luanched manually all mods working game runs fine like wtf. lol

Tried to revert back with the guide and nothing is working now. Won't even launch without any mods.
