If you can get the game on sale, GOTY is the one to get. If your achievement hunter, you might not like Nuke a Cola world, but if you don't advance the main story to far, it will not interfere with one join able characters later.

In my opinion, yes, definitely! The game is a ton of fun and with the ability to mod, albeit being broken atm because of the new update, it increases the fun 100 fold at least! I do not regret buying it all one bit. It has its flaws, but no game is perfect and the good outweighs the bad as far as I'm concerned. If you'd like to use mods, there's a guide on Nexus mods that tells you how to revert to the version of the game just before the most recent (at the time of writing this) update and then there's another mod by the same author to prevent steam from updating the game when you try to play.
