Why didnt you just clone your profile and disable mods?
Create a profile
Set your profile to ONLY use saves played with the profile.
Clone your profile.
Disable all mods in the new profile.
I have like six different profile with varied mods that CANNOT be run together in the same profile (like Horizon and Sim Settlements 2) and whenever I want to test out something new, I clone the profile, copy saves to the new profile (so I keep the original) and give it a go.
