Cannot save

Hello, since yesterday it has been impossible to save or delete an old backup. I even tried to play a new game then save, it didn't work. I uninstalled reinstalled and repaired the game.. impossible. Does anyone have an idea? Please thank you 🙏

If the game cannot create its .ini files and cannot save game files in the Documents folder, then check whether you have Controlled Folder Access in Windows enabled, and if so, add Fallout4.exe and Fallout4Launcher.exe to the list of allowed apps. Also check your anti-virus software if you have any installed and create an exception for the game in case it is blocking it. Then check whether OneDrive is enabled and if necessary restore the Documents folder to its original location:

It might be windows defender blocking your saves. Set FO4 to the exclusion list.

Someone else had this issue in a earlier thread today and that was the fix. It's also happened to me too.

It is actually Controlled Folder Access that is causing the issue, the update removed the games access rights to the My Games folder (where your saves are) just access Controlled Folder Access from Settings and Add App.
