Game Crashing Constantly
I can't play the game since the next gen update, making my way to the vault the game crashes immediately near the creek crossing, I tried opening a previous save and the game crashed as soon as I came out of the vault and walked past the vault entrance.
Is anyone else having major issues like this or is it possibly my setup?

If in doubt, I am running an i9-12900KS, RTX4090 on liquid, 32GB DDR5 at 6000mhz, all SSD's are NVME 980 PRO's, Win 11, Slight overclock on CPU and GPU but nothing wild..
Any Help would be AWESOME! thanks

Having the same issue. Started a brand new fresh save after the update, verified files. Have not changed anything from the default settings after the auto detect and game crashes to desktop right after crossing the creek either right before or right after the Army NPC standing there pointing up the hill to towards the Valt-tec employee. What the hell. Can't say I'm surprised given it is Bethesda being Bethesda...A major update or new release of a game made by these inept dev's working out the gate would be a miracle.

Holy Crap was able to make it to the guy at the gate that stopped the vault tec employee but let me thru before game crashed to desktop...Didn't make it to the next autosave though so I have to try again but I guess that is progress right?

Was crashing a lot too. Turn off weapon "weapon debris" in the advance settings options before playing. Now it's pretty much stable. It's not compatible with RTX cards. Bethesda being Bethesda, this bug been there since the introduction of RTX cards.

I'm wondering if this is a Windows 11 issue - you're definitely not the first to have this crash, it seems to be reported a lot. I have a potato laptop but it's Win 10, and I'm playing a new game, unmodded, just to see what the mess would be today. It works for me BUT - I also went into the game yesterday and deleted all my old saves, and then made sure those also deleted themselves in the cloud. And I'm playing on mostly medium graphics settings.
So for you I'd keep an eye on if they focus on Windows 11, and/or also admit that whatever they did instantly borked all old saves. Honestly I was expecting that I'd have to delete the game entirely and redownload the thing - am kinda amazed that I was actually able to play.

If any of you want to test this I'd suggest saving a backup of your old games elsewhere - then go in and try deleting old saves, then try playing after making a new character. If it's still not working possibly would indicate Win 11 is the issue? Maybe? Question marks because, Bethesda.

You guys probably all have weapon debris enabled.
DISABLE it in under options and your game wont crash.
This is a very known issue with 3xxx and 4xxx cards and Fallout.
It is still not being patched.

I tried it with weapon debris turned off and still crashed frequently. Turned off Godrays as well and it seems to have stabilized.

I had this problem, turning OFF weapon debris in advanced graphics fixed it for me. Ultrawide though has issue of not being able to see name input when creating character, other then that working ok for me.

Weapon Debris was not fixed expect crashes if you use it.

Broke all F4SE mods expects crashes if you use them.

May have issues due to added content in relation to mods, example someone has to check for missing references and unintentional deletes caused by updates if that happens all mods that call on such references will cause crashes.

In short if you use mods or intend to use mods you can expect some crashes until people that work on mods star to get things sorted out. Could take some time.

In meantime if you had a working mods list and allowed your game to update an have to play this weekend I suggest you look up how to roll ack the update.

I'm a mod author and long time mod user, so I know plenty of stuff, ignore this simple advice an suffer or take it with some salt an prosper it's up to you.
