Edit: if not, Nuka is for "evil" character development and Automatron is if you want to make robots (and have twenty million robot encounters- that are virtually identical- because the DLC is still corrupt.)
The "critical" DLCs are Far Harbor, Vault-Tec Workshop, Nuka World and Automatron. These are the DLCs that add meaningful content to the game and are often required by mods due to core scripting changes to the game. Unfortunately, if you want the unofficial patch project, which is relatively important, you also need Wasteland Workshop and Contraptions Workshop.
