Do they ever go after the Enclave?
I had ambushes where robots and the rust devils went after each other while I sat back crouched and cleaned up afterwards.

Think of it as an opportunity to get Hellfire power armor and the Tesla cannon when you're still low level. Make sure you have a companion like Nick to distract them and a good supply of grenades, mines, and healing items. Keep low, keep moving, keep firing, kill Enclave. (Thank you Sgt. Saunders)

13 years since Skyrim and Bethesda still doesn't know how to balance out random encounters... no we don't need vampires and rust devils every 15 minutes, they should be rarer and more spread out.

i don't care to be honest, i wreck em and farm some xp and caps.

Don’t ♥♥♥♥ with the enclave early on or deal with it the way I dealt with it.

Just set up an ambush at one of your settlements step out then run back in.

the Enclave with the flame launcher is pretty OP. lots of dodging required.

The best way to handle this seems to be to anticipate it and be ready to pick a direction and run as soon as you have fast travelled and they spawn in. Haven't had them ambush twice, it's part of the quest to ambush you after a fast travel once, they stay where you left them after running off, so you can go level up and gear up and come back to deal with it when you're ready.
