This is Bethesda we're talking about. You shouldn't expect anything more or less then hogwash.
Hard to say what the decision on this was and why.
I'll take what I can get for this game though. 2017 was the last time they did anything for this game. Thats a long time ago.
I play @ 2160p and between 100-150 mods normally. (Right now I play with 0 mods) and I'm all for this update. I'm biased because outside of mods, it works for me.
What works? Downtown Boston is playing smooth as silk for me now, and not having to save before fast traveling there every time is a nice change of pace from the last 8 years. Super mutant city that it is. Is now as smooth for me as red rocket is. No mod ever did that for me.
Better still, my settlements aren't telling me on my pipboy, that they have 0 beds and 0 defense, when I know they have 24 beds and 15 rocket turrets, cause I just put them there an hour ago. This is a fix even modders couldn't achieve. Was called an engine limitation by the unofficial patch team.
So yeah it might not be NEXT GEN that people expected but I'm all for ANYTHING that adds future support to this game so that it can endure more years without becoming totally obsolete.
Can not say anything about that because i did not update or use an UW Widescreen.
The update was mostly to port FO4 to newer consoles. Before the specifics were announced, I was hoping that it'd be more like Skyrim Special Edition, and we'd get a new, updated engine. However, we knew it wasn't going to be anything like that even for the past week or two.
It would have been nice if they'd done a Special Edition, but I'm guessing Bethesda has committed all their resources to Elder Scrolls 6 and Starfield.
>>> They take years to fix one thing and break 100 .... welcome to their World ...
>>> What is going on with you people ? You did not read all the changes Bethesda was intended to do via this update before today ? There were several articles, YouTube videos about this explaining everything about this update and it seems to me that you are not reading at all, you are not researching before hitting the button and that is why you are so disappointed and confused. If it was the red button to launch a nuclear weapon, we will be killed by you already ... lol ...
but bethesda is not reasonable
thx todd, you did it again!
