Reverse update? Please tell me it's possible
I didn't turn off automatic updates because I've been totally out of the loop. My game will not even start anymore through MO2. It doesn't seem like there's a way to reverse the update. Please tell me there's some possible way to undo this man. I was looking forward to playing this weekend so badly.

Hate to break it to you, but you might be doing something else this weekend. Reverting your install while maintaining its previous state.... Not sure thats gunna happen.

You can't anymore, just wait the next F4SE and rebuild the entire modpack again. :lilimsob:

There are ways with the Steam Console to Revert Fallout 4 back to its previous build, just look up Fallout 4 downgrade on Youtube and you should find something.

And let me guess. F4SE will have to be fixed and it will take a long time. But additionally, every mod I have installed will have to be fixed too in order to work, won't it?

Same problem.. just restarted the game last week (after playing it on the PS years back). Perfected my set of mods.. and now this. Ugh.

Some mods work already, but script extender dependent mods; yes

You can, in theory, download a prior version. I looked at the depots for Fallout 4 and the one we just got...those of us that didn't turn off automatic updates...is Depot # 377162. It's an update (50MB) depot to the base game. The base game depot number *may* be 540810 which is called the "Terrapin" Depot. and is about the right size of 58GB. However I'm hesitant to replace my game with depot 540810 since there were quite a few updates and DLCs since then and I don't know how to get all but the last, 377162.

F4SE is doing an update but no idea when it will be ready or if it will be problem free.

Basically they screwed us. After this I'm thinking I'll never buy another game from them.

I read through the downgrade guide and I'm just not even gonna bother. I'll come back in a week or so and see if it's fixed. But this is just infuriating. What, did they want a fresh coat of paint on their mediocre game because of the series or something? I don't understand, WHO ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ ASKED FOR THIS? NOBODY! Most of the people who still play this game do so with a careful set of mods that took a lot of tinkering to get working and now it resembles a finished and fleshed out game. And you basically gave the finger to all of us! ♥♥♥♥ BETHESDA

I do have a question. If I start the game through Steam rather than MO2/F4SE, and play on my regular save until it's fixed, would I be able to start through F4SE once it's fixed with no issues?

Maybe buy it again on GOG. Someone here said you can pick your version and totally disable updates.

Hard to say what would be more irritating though. Waiting for mods to be updated, or redownloading every single mod from scratch and reconfiguring everything based on the fact that now my Data folder exists in a GOG games folder. Unless someone can confirm that a) this works and b) it's a relatively painless process.

Starting scripted mods halfway through is always a bit iffy. You're probly better off waiting. And if you're suggesting removing mods and such temporarily, playing it a bit, and then putting it all back on once it's back in working order, that'd be 10x the iffy. Like for sure that'll give your save the brain scramblies.
