why do people hate todd so much
tbh i only really got into fallout in like 2022 or so, but recently it feels like half of the community is just obsessed with hating on todd howard and just going on and on about how he secretly despises early fallout. is there actually any proof of it outside of a mid tv show retconning FNV? apologies if this is like poorly phrased

Because Bethesda could have done so much more with Fallout with a more capable guy at the helm. I mean compare the interest in an almost 10 year old Fallout vs a half year old Starfield, we can clearly see how massive a fail Starfield was.

Because he made Fallout better by changing the Original unpopular lore to make it better and more popular. But some fans are just foaming at the mouth saying that Todd ruin fallout, despite the fact a lot of Fallout fans never even heard of Fallout until they saw and played Bethesda Fallout games & watch the TV show and became Fallout fans.

Can't help those minority of the Fallout Fans.

why not hate anyone else at bethesda who got a lot of power in the company and their games?

The only reason why no one else are getting hate, is because Todd is the face of the company. So it doesnt really matter if he is at fault or not, he will get the hate.

not to mention after Microsoft bought Bethesda, a lot of playstation warriors decided they hate him now, simply because he is "on the wrong side"

Before that, you never heard playstation warriors talk about Todd really.

I didn't say he deserves it. But like you said he is the face of Bethesda, so he'll get the cheers along with the jeers.

No idea where your problem is. Would you really mind if the game would have got an intense main story? Or multi layered quests that require decisions that affect your further playthrough? Would that affect your experience in any way or improve it?

This is the funny fact at this ages old discussion - old fallout fans rant about stuff that newer fans even don´t know about but that doing these things would not hurt a single bit their own gameplay experience - they simply don´t understand.

Less is not automatically supremacy.

go back and look at all the things he has lied about over the years. Look at the heaping pile of trash that is Fallout 76 and see how much he hyped it up. That is just a glimps at why he is a con man and no one respects him

You are talking as if Bethesda can't do that, but looking at the Elder Scrolls games they did do that.

I remember being very skeptical of FO3 back in the day. I played the original and 2 when they released, and was looking forward to "Van Buren," which was the working title for what would've been 3, and in the same style as 1 and 2. (Didn't play Tactics or BoS.)

I couldn't image Fallout being any good as a first-person game. Then I watched a video showcasing how V.A.T.S. worked in first-person. I was on board after that. What ended up being FO3 was pretty awesome, and I liked FO4 even more.

I don't understand the Howard Hate, but I like what I like, and I'm glad Bethesda took over Fallout. I loved the old games, but aside from lore and a handful of other things, I can't compare them to BGS's versions. They're all great in their own ways.

Beth games are buggy pieces of sh*t on the way out. Only downside for me.

from what i've seen a lot of fallout 76 got patched, nowadays its relatively functioning with a bunch of new content to play. it was only rough at launch because it was rushed

I don´t play elder scrolls, not my type of universe. But if they are capable to do it in elder scrolls as you say, where was their problem doing it in fallout? Could have avoided 10 years of pointless discussions.....
They managed to do it in the far harbor dlc, the only thing where i saw them doing it.

Compared to it´s launch it´s better, yes. But in the end you go through the content in about one week and that´s it. Zero intention to replay.

Yeah its a lot better now, and i bet most people who say its bad haven't even tried it.. they just say its bad because some youtuber said in a 4 year old video that its bad.

from what I have seen both on reddit and twitter, people who just picked up the game actually say the game is good.

You do know we got some fans that will actually call you a traitor for liking FO3 and FO4. They demand true Fallout fans should love FNV and hate FO3 and FO4.

not really what they go for. I have played the game on/off to see how it goes and its clear who their target is.
The game being a GAAS clearly show who the target is.. Whales and there are plenty of them ingame. Why have 5k people playing it on loop when you can have a single guy who put his entire life savings into the game?
