Steam keys are sold on various licensed sites. Just use a site like gg.deals or isthereanydeal.com and see if it's on sale there. There's also the Fanatical.com Fallout Bundle which is probably still up.

You've never heard that Steam games can be purchased on 3rd part sites and you can just register a key on Steam?
And if you do - why would you even think about buying it directly on Steam in the first place? It's always best to at least double check prices elsewhere, before going to Steam Store.

I'm leery of all key sites and won't use them, but some people swear by them. I guess if Steam has concerns about specific ones, maybe it's better to avoid them.

there are also good sites I sometimes use it. But yeah most of the time I just use Steam since they also give you 2 hours of testing and with certain games even longer.

Ye there's a couple you don't go to.
isthereanydeal is highly regarded around most the main forum hubs by many trusted user's word of mouth.
I'll happily stick to steam sales without them.
If your announcements are set correctly you shouldn't miss a single sale here. The Blue PA horn at top ^ obviously.
If someone pm's you a site :) do check for reviews and post about it first... trust no one in that sense.

Trust has nothing to do with it. Isthereanydeal and gg.deals only tell you if a site has a discount and while gg.deals does also list key sites, it also warns you about them. Thankfully, though, if you have an account you can disable seeing that garbage altogether, which you'll want an account to get notifications for future sales on games you want anyway.
