Horrible FPS with borderless windowed
Next update will probably fix that but I'm still posting in case I can enjoy a fix tonight.

So I'm having horrible FPS if I set the resolution to native 1920*1080, windowed borderless.
Games runs absolutely fine on full screen.

Monitor has a 75hz refresh rate. Card : rtx 3060

I tried all ipresentinterval options with different fps caps, enabling or disabling freesync on the monitor.

I don't have a gsync option on the nvidia control panel (with or without freesync enabled on the monitor overlay)

I googled a few similar posts, no luck yet.

You googled nothing. Otherwise you would know about simple mods that stabilize the game like the Unofficial patch and physics mod. I run the game 165 fps without issues on 4090 and 2560x1440 and you cant google your issue? XD

well it sadly not optimised for more newer cards. Just hope you get the update you need tomorrow. I was lucky to play the game without issues so far.

not looking for mods but vanilla tweaks

Also your system and monitor are completely different so I have no idea why you thought your experience would be helpful ?

play vanilla fullsceen or if you want to play 75 hz or more use physics mod as essential to decouple the physics engine from frame rates like 60 hz max. as astra miitarum suggests. you need script extender and HighFPSPhysicsFix.dll. you can even install dlss upscaler mod to raise fps a little.

Go into your display settings for windows and change your monitor's refresh rate to 60 hz, this fixes the poor FPS.

I was able to use the video driver to limit the specifically FO4's FPS in the borderless window without affecting other apps. I read that doing it that way doesn't work for everyone, but it worked for me without changing the monitor's refresh rate.

The mod stabilizes vanilla game like i said. Fixes tons of bugs and makes the game playable in higher frame rates. I had a 1920x1080 monitor with 3070 and ran the game with those two mods at constant 80 fps. Those mods take nothing from vanilla experience.

I can confirm this is still an issue on the day of the "Next Gen" update also. I ALSO have a 4090 and was getting 37 to 41 fps ON THE MAIN MENU EVEN with Windowed + Borderless ENABLED.

Don't throw any suggestions at me, I tried them all. Playing in fullscreen fixed the problem for now.

Confirming this. Borderless window runs like absolute garbage while fullscreen works fine, but fullscreen is prone to crashes that mods absolutely will not fix if you switch windows at certain unpredictable moments
