What good is poison?

How to use it? doesn't seem like it can be applied to melee weapons or ammo? Gotta be good for something; but what?

The only poison I recall is the mod in Kremvh's Tooth. Once I got a legendary drop of a machete that did bleed damage, and I added the poison mod from Kremvh's Tooth to it. That was pretty bad assed.

Other than that I don't know about any poison.

Syringe gun all i got

From what I can tell with the vanilla game, poison in FO4 exists only in three forms:

1. Poison damage and poison resistance in the form of legendary weapon and armor effects*

2. Poison damage caused by creatures like bugs and Mirelurk Queens

3. The Radscorpion Venom Syringe ammo for the Syringer Rifle

*Kremvh’s Tooth being the only one that features a removable mod called “sacrificial blade” that can be applied to any other legendary machete weapon.


That being said, there is no way to apply poison damage to your weapons or ammunition at will.

If you’re seeing poison-based damage modifications besides KT’s sacrificial blade, or poisoned versions of ballistic ammo, or other types of poison-based weapons (grenades, non-legendary weapons, etc) you’re using a mod that’s adding them in.

I remember there is rat poison and arsenic in the game , but rather than use the poisons themselves , instead they're broken down into ingredients to make something else in this
game .

Interesting. I can make various poisons at the chem lab in the poison category. Gotta be a mod and an old one at that. Unfortunately after at least 5 years I've never figured out how to do anything with it. At first I figured you make the poison and then make a syringer ammo that uses it. Didn't work.

Oh well; ce la vie.

If you know what your load order is, you do a help search for the item with the console in the game. The first 2 digits of the item code will be the mods position in your load order. For example:

help "10mm pistol" 4

That will return everything in the game with 10mm pistol in the name. Just replace 10mm pistol with the name of the poison.

"New" poisons? Like what? from a mod? I am not interested if it is mod info.

You can't apply poisons to weapons and some weapons come with it as a buff. Such as Kremvh's Tooth.

It also occupies the "sorted by damage" slot at the bottom. It's probably hilarious as well.

poison dmg in fallout 4 is next to nothing unless done by some legendary enemies and mirequeen.
