Fo4 Companion Ivy Magazines
I have collected 20 of Ivys magazines , tracked down Picket Fences #55 & can supposedly build magazine disply racks now but I can't seem to locate them in the build menu. Any clues?? Thanx.

Ask the mod page. Since this isn't a vanilla thing and not everyone here would have that mod, your best bet is to keep up to date on the mod's page or forum itself.

You might find those things though, in "decorations", perhaps in "display", I know other racks show up in some odd spots like "containers" (or whatever the term is that they use I can't remember).

Thanx; I found the vanilla display racks under decorations & searched the entire funiture/dfecoraions menus without uncovering anything. I alrady posted to Ivys forum but so far no response. Thanx again for your interest.

Make sure that if the mod requires it, that you have SETTLEMENT MOD MANAGER installed and functional.

It could be that the mod (or many others) aren't visible in your build tabs because they require a specific set of code, and without that, their tab will never be generated, or that they need to be properly configured. If you have any kind of 'configuration holotape' for that mod, I'd suggest checking there too.

magazine racks are under furniture->containers->shelves.
You get two options: Yellow, and beat up.

There are some really GOOD storage stuff mods, including the parts that are in the Hotchpotch set (furniture/wooden style). They allow you to place Nuka Cola bottles and recipe books, the robot parts assembled toys (though not regular toys which I really would like to have)

I picked up the Holotape display shelf mod from neeher, they're VERY nice

And also the Wall Mounted magazine racks from exoclyps

and probably the cutest lore-friendly Bobblehead stand ever made, the dollhouse by Zorkaz:

I want to thank all of you for your help. I still haven't found the little buggers yet by maybe patience shall persevere. My load order is messed, no creative clutter & I lost thr entire furnitue catagory once so maybe there's an issue there somewhere. Meanwhile I'll just have to coonsole myself that I found the pink Runco Magazine Bobblhead & that Ivys affinity level is going up.

I'd suggest that if you can, use LOOT to sort things and then launch from your launcher after saving your load profile. It will much more easily make sure that you don't have obvious conflicts. I've played this game 4300 hours and ONLY in my currently started (only level 27 and I bumped to 18 at the start because I just want to build stuff) have I installed LOOT and used it... It's very good, honestly. If for no other reason than to make sure that your mods don't have obvious conflicts or requirements that are missing.

I do use loot to some extent. It's good for pointing out conflicts and I let it sort and then compare it with my plugin.txt file looking for any notable differences. I read a discussion about clutter saying I should run sms menu fixer & it should restore it so that's next I guess.

I've been kinda letting it rest while I think about things and have gotten off on a tangent putting new curtains (wow) in the Nakano house and have been developing it a a settlement.

It's a fun spot to build in, yeah!

Hey, thanx for the pointers to the shelving mods. I did check them out & I already have the hodgepodge one. Needed it for a tranfer settlement, nice stuff.

yup!

Sometimes things hide buried in their menus, lol I reinstalled and moved some things around and had to re-discover which of my many mods was the one that has a single telephone pole power line... (build your own bridges).

I can't believe it!! I solved creative clutter & it now works fine. I reread the redit post on SMM & at the bottom they said it diddn't do anything. I tracked down the mod author (crayonkit) to his website "creative family mods" & discovered he authored a file called creative menu fix. I had to fire up FO4 & at the main menu select mods, do a search & then download it but it was worth the work cause it did the trick. I'm learning if ll else fails, read.
Still nothing on Ivy tho, no response from reginald01.

Oh bummer there. But good for you, it's always fun to figure out those "lightbulb over your head" moments!

After 10 yrs & over 4k hours load order is still a crap shoot, trying to juggle almost 200 mods. Recently had to uninstall/reinstall due to CTD so this is a fresh start & most functional LO I've ever had. The little game that keeps on giving.
Zekiran Feb 29, 2024 @ 1:50pm
I only JUST started using LOOT and I think the one REALLY good thing it does is show visually "whoops this is broken" (though I love how it tells you 'this WILL crash your GAME!!' and it absolutely does not crash and definitely has never been a problem for the farming stuff I have lol) but it was very good to realize "oh, this isn't sorting correctly because I downloaded the esp not esl files *HEADDESK*"
