They never said it like a "promise". It was planned for a 2023 release. But ♥♥♥♥ happens and things get delayed. This is normal at any time in history.
Looks like you have to repeat everything for the thick skulls these days.

Im not holding my breath though ^^.
You know, thinking about it... all being released in April, maybe they actually do release the next gen update then as well.
i play my game with 4k settings and it works and looks great with all the existing mods and beautifications.
- performance mode features for high frame rates
- quality features for 4K resolution gameplay
- bug fixes
- bonus Creation Club content!
FO76 released in 2018 was "next-gen" compared to FO4. It supports fps up to 150 or so before it locks up. The graphics are better than FO4. Image quality is better but the world design is realistic which makes for a massive improvement in gameplay. Improved streamlined game mechanics. Interesting plots. Interesting locations. Many buildings aren't interior locations but part of the exterior world so no loading wait for those. And you get rewards as you play, for example a skiing pose.

The frame rate increase would already be great for me though, as I really come to appreciate playing games in 144 Hz.
And, those are only the features they announced. Who knows if there won't be more in the update.
Fallout: Brotherhood of Steel is total crap.
FO76 is the multiplayer mode that should have been shipped with FO4.
2023: Crickets
Xenon: They lied.
Bethesda Fans: no Xenon, they were just babbling.
Not sure what's worse; lying or babbling.
They didn't "promise" you ♥♥♥♥. They gave an ETA. Google for "Estimation". And update brain.exe.
Okay, we can run with that!
