Once the circuit breaker aboard the ship is turned on, it will cause the screen to shake, and a mirelurk queen and several other leveled mirelurks will emerge.
To finish the settlement unlocking process, one must return and flip the circuit breaker on the radio tower. After a few seconds, this will send a sonic pulse that will drive all remaining mirelurks to the shores of the island. It is not necessary to kill the queen, as she is affected by this pulse as well. The workshop will then unlock, and one will be able to build at any point on the island.
If i turned off i guess it will make the mirelurks come back, but does it increase the chances of getting attacked in general? or only with mirelurks? the wikia doesnt say ♥♥♥♥ about that :/
The defense system for settlements is literally just a numbers game. What things you put in rarely makes a difference except if you put things that will also break crops or injure your settlers (explosive, incindiary).
I always remove it because I level the whole place with scrapall anyway. If there is a creature spawn, it's going to spawn with or without that feature as far as I know.
Just my opinion on that settlement. Since the OP already got his answer.
