Are you trying to run the game on a massive widescreen or some odd resolution? Don't, select something smaller.
Since you don't give any other information, it's impossible to tell whether your game is ever going to run right.
Did it run right BEFORE the update? On that exact computer?
And when you say "only the dlc" - are you also running the High Rez texture pack? THROW THAT to the CURB. remove it, try again.
Your game needs to be capped to 60 fps more than likely.

Indeed, textures don't cause CTD and you won't be having any bad mesh problems with the official DLC.
When you have an 8GB video card and someone says "uninstall your textures" for troubleshooting a nine year-old game you should ignore it. Especially when the textures are an official DLC and not a mod.
I hope you backed that up before you removed, or whoever recommended that just cost you a lengthy re-download to put it back.
