Fort Strong quest won't work

I cleared Fort Strong earlier in the game, including the room with the nukes. I thought this was fine since I read online that the super mutants just respawn anyway, but for some reason I can't start the quest after I joined the BOS.

I tried adding the quest with console commands, resetting it, finishing the quest, but nothing allows me to talk to Maxson about the Molecular Relay and progress the main story.

Are there any fixes anyone is aware of to this? (Mods, console commands, etc.)

How did you clear the room with the nukes since you can't get in, after Maxson gives you the quest? I cleared Fort Strong before joining the brotherhood but the path to the elevator to get to the nukes was blocked. How i know the quest was active after talking to maxson, i was seeing the Behemoth outside the Fort with the other Super Mutants. Either way if console commands didn't work you might have to reload an earlier save.

I only had problems with Imogen's quest, but you might have to bypass and trigger the next task rather than complete the quest, that's what worked for me. However the best explanation with quests and console commands that I found had to do with Imogene's cabot bugged quest that finally worked after working some wonders.

Load a earlier save before you messed things up. Doing areas or even quests out of sequence, can cause issues. This is why manually saving often is important.

Yeah it's broken if you used noclip to get into that nuke room - it requires a story based trigger to go in normally.

Yeah sorry I think I went in before the airship even arrived lmao and I'm on the molecular level quest already
