Many issues with the Reunion quest and I can't find Nick

So I noticed I wasn't struggling much with enemies because I was a high level, and I wanted to complete some of the main quests. Kellogg was a breeze, and Nick was my companion so I didn't have to teleport anywhere to talk. I got Curie and swapped her out for Nick. Here is the weird part: when I have to talk to Piper to continue the quest, there is no option to talk about the main quest, just "Come with me","Lets trade" or "Lets go". I thought Nick could help but I can't find him anywhere. Is there any fix or commands I have to do to fix this? I don't want to start a new save file.

Go to the detective agency office. Piper will appear and mock you for killing the only lead on finding your son, and Nick will call you an insufferable incompetent idiot and a terrible parent.

Oh wait none of that will happen. The Hand of Todd will reach down and reward you for your utter stupidity and the main story will Just Work.
