Creation Club Settlement Ambush Kit is great for Survival Mode

I got the Creation Club Settlement Ambush Kit, and am really enjoying it.

One feature that is great for Survival Mode is the security camera. You can set up security cameras in a settlement, and view them from monitors installed at other settlements.

Why is this useful? Because when a settlement is getting attacked, viewing the attack on a monitor means the attack will proceed as though you were actually present at the settlement instead of using an RNG algorithm to determine the attack's outcome.

In Survival Mode, you can't really fast travel, so trying to go to a settlement and defend it in person can be a real pain. With the security cameras and monitors installed in every settlement, you don't need to go to the settlement that is being attacked, you just need to get to the nearest settlement, and can then watch the attack unfold on the monitor.

When/if the attack is repulsed, you get credit for helping to defend the settlement, even though you were not physically there.

I love watching my turrets and settlers and other defenses wreck the invaders.

If you're playing Survival Mode, I highly recommend this Creation Club mod.

Thanks for the tip on using the cameras. I also play on Survival mode but use a mod called Survival Options that allows fast travel. It doesn't make sense to have to walk everywhere when stuff doesn't respawn for game weeks or months at a time. FO4 becomes a literal walking simulator though a barren wasteland. Fast Travel still advances the clock so I might still use the cameras and just fast travel to the nearest settlement and watch the battle as you suggested.

There is one issue with the cameras. You cannot export the cameras in the settlement because when importing the settlement the scripts are broken/missing.

Another issue is do NOT use the shooting range if you care about what clothing and equipment your settlers have. Every time they use it the animation recycles their gear.
