Contraptions workshop DLC

Do I need to complete a quest or ding a level to unlock the content? I cannot find any of the additions from that DLC at all.

The Contraptions Workshop DLC doesn't require anything to unlock, you should just see all its new settlement objects show up along with everything else in build mode, where they'll be marked with a small spanner/wrench symbol.

For example, you should have new sections for scaffolding and warehouse pieces under your Structures section, a variety of new mechanical parts in the Power section, and armour racks in the Decorations->Display section.

If you don't have any of them, I'd start by checking that the DLC is enabled/installed in the "Add-ons" section of the main game menu.

After the 25 Apr update it was necessary to reinstall all DLC, at least on some platforms. Try that if the above advice doesn't work.

Maybe for some. But not for myself. This update went very smooth for me. All I had to do was download it, then it installed and I was good to go. My old saves even work without a hitch.

Even my CC collection worked fine.

I was likewise fine in regard to the DLC, only needing a command line addition to prevent the game from trying to launch itself for the Steam Deck. I also did an update-all for the Creation Club items, though I don't know if that was strictly necessary. That said, I wouldn't be at all surprised to find a few modules like that not automatically activating for some people (just as some had no issues with the Steam Deck).

Though in this case it sounds like the OP is using the Contraptions Workshop DLC for the first time.

In my case all DLC were missing after the 25 Apr update with no action on my part. This was on PS4 though. The same did not happen on my PC. Why? Todd only knows.
