What happened to all the bobby pins?
I started a new game to see what it looks like now and I cant find a single box of bobby pins anywhere. I can get individual bobby pins from random container loot but no boxes on tables or places like that.
Anybody else noticed this?

Do you still get the experience for not lock picking and not hacking?

Maybe Bobby started a civil lawsuit to have his name removed from the pin and until a settlement has been reached has the item been taken of the market. :steambored:

Lock picking game is fun, until it isn't. I don't feel bad about cheating it anymore.
Be in a fierce battle. Stop to loot. mess around picking locks for 15 minutes while the super mutants and Alpha Albino Super Death Claw wait patiently.
Eventually open lock, Grab loot. Killed by recently added Superspawn Mole-rat/Enclave hybrids that spring up behind you and turn you to ashes with the super heavy legendary "Satan's Flamer".

Not going to lie. In Bethesda games I always spawn in 10000 lockpicks at the beginning of the game.

The lock picking perks really help saving lock picks. I didnt max out the perk where you never break one, had so many it didnt seem the worth of a pick to max it out.
The Bobby pin box in the first Concord house often doesn't spawn, just like the bandana and glasses for dogmeat don't always spawn there. The dogmeat stuff is triggered by interacting with him. The Bobby pin box IDK but it is definitely quite often not there. Maybe due to script lag of whatever spawns it?

So I'm not going crazy. I haven't seen the red bandana or welding goggles on that dresser in many of play through. I just assumed it was part of a mod I forgot about that I didn't have installed. Don't think the bobby pins help with the safe next to the dresser though, every time I've played its been an advanced lock
Yes that's right.

Bobby pins are easier to obtain the more you have.

Just buy them off traders such as trash can Carla or trucy they aren’t expensive.
Yes it's really only a problem before you make contact with traders. From that point on just buy whatever they have in stock. Soon you will be swimming in them.

You sure you didnt eat it with scrapall in Red Rocket.
Scrapall extends beyond the range of settlement borders.

Maybe though not in my case, I've never used scrapall.

However, it does give an advantage over the vanilla game by making it so easy that you never lose a bobby pin. But it's better than doing the same mini-game over and over through hours of play.

The modders' efforts to make it possible to play the game without playing the game seem endless.

In some ways the same could be said about minigames, like the lockpicking and computer hacking. After the first 10 times, if even that, the novelty of the minigames wears off. Its just something that is in the way of actually playing the main game.
