Am I missing something in dunwich borers?

It's just a bunch of ghouls and idiots with guns, I went into the mining area and saw 2 visions and found a knife, really thinking there isn't anything else there I'm about to leave Dunwich borers. I haven't cleared it but I've killed all I can find. Have I missed something or is this location all just for this weird knife underwater?

I've also tried finding a key for a locked door near the entrance but no luck.

That's pretty much it. Raiders, some ghouls, spooky cultist visions of the past and the cool knife at the end of the flooded tunnel.

If you pay attention to the visions, the ghouls are actually the old mining company employees. It's just for lore purposes, but the ritual somehow made them all ghouls.

You can farm Power Armor from here, once you perk into penetration. A couple of other places as well. Best place to get mining helmets for provisioners.

One of the Radiant settlement quests sent me there to clear out the raiders so it is probably just a spot they can send you randomly to.

PS, very near the excavation site is an area you want to find and check out. It contains a ______ ____. There is a dead NPC named ____. If you properly fill in the blanks you'll know you found it, and it is worth looking for.

You didn't happen to miss any of the raiders on the outside by any chance ? the place is big enough . You could try going back to a previous save , try it again and see what happens .

As previously mentioned, the Sneak bobblehead is a big draw for me. Otherwise, I don't care much about it…but you'll probably get missions sending you there anyway over time (might as well be prepared). :)

There is a unique weapon there. Deep dive into a hole full of water. Don't be wearing power armor when you dive. You will never get it out. It's deep also. So Aqua boy is very handy.
