Kill scavenger in Dugout Inn

I have a mission from Mags Black to kill a scavenger in Dugout Inn in Diamond City. I have lured him to my home and shot him with a pistol and also just beat him. I also tried doing this while hidden. But when I leave Home, Plate Diamond City security is always attacking me. Is there a way to do this mission without making Diamond City hostile?

the key is to kill him without being detected with other npcs around. they will temporarily go hostile and look for you but if you can remain hidden for a minute or two they will reset back to non-hostile.

alternatively you can kill him, flee diamond city and sleep for 3 days and they will reset to non-hostile.

Thanks, since I chose to kill him in my home and the only witness is Ada, I will just wait a few minutes. Good time to take a nap.

If DC security are hostile, they saw you kill the scavenger.

Make sure you remain in Hidden status until the target is dead.
