downgrade not working

i have downgraded fallout with the simple fallout 4 downgrader but the moment i start the game it crashes immediately without even getting onto the loading screen, i have tried multiple time to fix this by using the regular fallout 4 downgrader after re updating it, disabling and enabling vortex to see if any of the mods are the problem but no matter how hard i try fallout 4 just wont work, if you have any idea as to what might help please tell me

The downgrader on the nexus simply marks the executable to bypass the steam control of "are you on the latest version". So it allows to launch the game from steam and remove the risk of "accidental update".

But if you've already updated to NG, simply applying the "downgrade" won't do you any good as you still need to roll your install back to pre-NG - meaning assets, archives, all of it.

thank you so much for that and if you don't mind me asking how do i do that because i would mostly play on Xbox and have only been playing on PC recently

Can confirm that the method shown in the post above works flawlessly, as long as you follow the steps carefully, delete all CC content and then disable automatic updates.
