Bug with "Emergent Behavior" * minor spoilers *
I've finished Dangerous Minds (explore Kellog's memories), I have Curie with me at the Memory Den, and I have the prerequisite affinity with Curie.

However, when I try to initiate a conversation with Doctor Amari to turn Curie into a synth, the dialogue will not start. She simply repeats general flavor responses.

I've played the game through many times, and turned Curie into a synth several times, and never had this bug. The only mod I've added recently is "America Rising 2 - Legacy of the Enclave," and that has nothing to do with Curie.

Here's what I've tried:

1. Advancing the quest stage results in the Caretaker showing up and initiating her dialogue about using the synth body, but the synth body is not present in the memory lounger. The game subsequently gets stuck on Dr. Amari telling the not-present Curie to breathe.
2. I've tried to spawn (via player.placeatme) a Curie body with each of the IDs shown in "help curie 4". Each of those results in new bodies arriving for BOTH synth Curie and robot Curie. The new synth Curie is non-interactive and starts walking away immediately.
3. I've tried to manually changing Curie to a synth by modifying the variables found in "help curie 3", but this does not work.

Anyone have any thoughts? Has anyone encountered this bug and found a fix?

You should mark your title with *Spoilers*, Sir.

Never had the bug myself, but neither have I used America Rising either, so maybe it's that Mod doing it somehow?

This. I think the odds are high, the mod is causing a conflict.

Until you've completed "Dangerous Minds" and then returned to Dr. Amari once the BOS shows up in the Commonwealth, she won't talk to you.

Which is probably why the first four words of my post were, "I've finished Dangerous Minds."

forget about your placeatme and variable changes, this won't do anything and just mess things even more not allowing the scripts to work.

outside of memory den try

setstage COMCurieQuest 100

press enter and close console

then enter memory den and talk to amary.
if you get the dialog from amary , curie should start to speak and say she will stays with amary.


if not work try

setstage COMCurieQuest 100
outside of memory den

then

setstage COMCurieQuest 150
inside memory den just before talking to amary.

This is correct. You should NEVER use placeatme for NPCs because it CREATES a duplicate. You should use enable and moveto instead.

The problem lies with Doctor Amari not recognizing her dialogue place in the script. Which means she could be stuck in a previous dialogue. Most likely the case if you JUST finished Dangerous Minds and are trying to rush to Curie's quest. Could also be any open Railroad quests involving her conflicting?

Bethesda game engines do NOT like to skip stages, and if you skip one, it may go a few more stages then freeze. In other words it may not be something you currently did in the current stage, but a few stages back.

Load a save prior to starting Emergent Behavior, wait a few days (for the dialogue timers to run out) and then try again.

Sorry - missed that. Do you have a quest marker showing on your HUD pointing toward Dr. Amari?
