Legendary enemies using legendary weapons
The legendary enemies in my game started using the respective legendary weapons that they drop, even the legendary armor, I'm level 55, I don't have any mods that change that, in fact I use few mods for the body, game interface, and some cosmetic items, but nothing that changes this conception

I looked everywhere and couldn't find any answers, I would like to know if this is recurring after a certain level or if this always exists in the game, or something from the new update?

pretty sure it was always a thing, at least for those enemies capable of using the item they have. there does seem to be more legendary enemies now though but that might just be me noticing them more.

t's funny, because there are several mods on Nexus that involve tinkering with this kind of thing, so I didn't imagine it would be possible by “vanilla” means.

How do you know this? It's pretty difficult to realize for the most effects of the weapons. Armor? Would be borderline impossible to definitively tell. And that's just "on sheet" usage.

When we remember that legendary enemies come in any shape / race / variety, there's even bigger issue. How would you expect that legendary mirelurk king to "use" the legendary chest piece/pistol/whatever that it drops?

I think it's pretty obvious that I'm talking about human enemies, right?

Today I was cleaning Picckman's Gallery and a legendary invader was using a laser rifle against me, when I killed him and the laser fell to the ground I saw that it was a legendary modification, and a few times I've picked up pieces of legendary equipment that when I took it from the enemy's body the game removed it from his dead body

This has 100% always been a thing. It just becomes extremely obvious that its happening, when they are using something that they wouldnt normally have, or have very visual animations. You likely wont notice a raider using a legendary pipe rifle. But when a low level raider has something like a legendary plasma gun, its kind of noticeable that they are using a plasma gun.

Legendary enemies using legendary armor shouldn't be a thing, as the legendary item is just in their inventory and NPC AI packages don't include parts about equipping non-power armor armors.

Any NPC capable of wielding a weapon can use it. That would include the legendary enemy as well as any other NPC near by picking it up and using it if you should manage to kill the legendary enemy.

It would depend on whether the legendary weapon spawns on death or spawns on creation of the legendary NPC. I don't know the answer to that.

Anyone ever try to sneak up on a legendary and pickpocket it?

it would be easier if you found a legendary friendly and try pickpocketing them (like the raiders at nuka-world, before trying to kill em all)
Good idea

Here's my take on Legendary Weapons. Kill a Mirelurk and get a gun. Where was he hiding it? up his A**?!? Ya ya i know it's whatever game mechanics, i just find it comical at times i get a large rifle outta a crabs BUTT!!!

isn't that how it's supposed to be?
I think it does happen, there was a legendary raider who killed me like 4 times in a row, and I couldn't figure out why I was taking damage, turns out their 10mm pistol had a bleed effect. I guess you don't notice it most of the time, because the bonuses are usually more situational.

Normally the legendary enemies spawn with equipment any normal version of their type would have and then the game adds the legendary item a tick later (that´s why you can "farm" specific legendary stuff at different locations) to their inventory. They can for sure change to that item when the ai realizes that it exists.

Nobody knows what skyrim magic lets legendary bloodflies carry miniguns and stuff around....

That isn't true. As you noticed, that doesn't work for those legendary enemies who can't wield weapons/armor. And if it did work that way, you also wouldn't get DLC weapons as legendary equipment on the main map. And you can - its also the only way to get DLC ammo without going to DLC maps. So the legendary item effect isn't being added to the NPCs normal equipment. It is adding in the entire item, not just adding the effect to an existing item.

Legendary opponents have always used their legendary weapons. I still remember all too well one time years ago when I was peeking out of an attic sniping the super mutants at Big John's Salvage during the middle of the night and found out that the leader was wielding a Nocturnal gauss rifle when he killed me with a single shot directly into my hidey hole.

The item technically spawns on the ground at the NPCs feet when they first appear, and is added to their inventory after a moment.

In a few places you can even watch it happening, the easiest case being the radroaches in the gas chamber section of the Nuka World gauntlet when they happen to spawn as legendary.
