There are several, I think. Maybe not. Check on Nexus.

In that case, best advice is to make sure that your defense number for each settlement is equal to or higher than the total of its food + water numbers. The higher the better. That means building defense turrets and assigning settlers to man guard posts. But there will always be a minimum 2% chance of an attack.

I have recently noted in the C/Wealth, that (robot) attacks increase substantially the moment you unlock A New Threat. On every new play-through I now tend to get the Mechanist out of the way as soon as possible to curb the attacks.

Then, regarding all these mathematical calculations people refer to when speaking about settlement defence; It might be so, but I tend to over-invest a LOT in my defences, especially at my larger hubs. I place many times over what the calculated value indicates it to be, and at Sanctuary for example, I have never had more than a handful of attacks in all my time playing. Then again, I also make sure to keep the minimum of water and aid in my workshops.

Getting to Far/H, I'm almost 100% sure that the calculation there differs from the one for the C/W. (I've not bothered to read up on it yet) In my previous play through I had a monster of a defence network at Echo Lake Lumber, and still they kept coming.

Once you have access to the Missile Turret though, and you can get enough of them up, it appears to me that the attacks rarely succeed, whether the SS is present or not.

No mods needed as far as I'm concerned.

More defenses you have the less you get attacked.
I build up Sanc. to 400 + on defenses and maybe once in ever 20-25 hours of play it will get hit. 3 Missile turrets on the 3 attack routes and 2 heavy laser turrets plus as many gun turrets I can put there. Just make sure you run power to each turret of they will knock out the one that powers them all.
Yes it takes a long time to build up to that high but what else are you going to use all that water for.
Normally the defenses handle the attack with no problem.

I use...

BS Defence... The author deleted it, so I am using a version from my old archive. Brilliant mod...

BS Defence Redone... not as good, but it's on the Nexus.

Keep your Defences higher than your Water and Food on a Settlement, and you will win all your Settlement Attacks.

Thanks. I will track this mod on Nexus.
Looks like new version will be better than the previous one.
