Crash without log on leaving Vault 111?
Playing on a downgraded old-gen 1.10.163 game. While I can play as normal by using the COC console command from the main menu, if I start a new game the moment I leave Vault 111 I go into a stationary black loading screen, with the little symbol in the lower right not moving, and then I crash to desktop without a crash log from Buffout 4 at all. Disabling all my mods allows me to get into the game, but the moment I reenable them the game crashes on launch. Load order/modlist: https://pastebin.com/g1Z4JqRA
Ideas?

Your mods will make a difference here, but also "weapon debris" turn it off.

If you have any kind of alternate start mod, OR if your mods have updated but you reverted your game version, there will be a conflict.

Are you using LOOT to sort your mods? It'll tell you whether there are actual problems.

Alternatively, there's the ol' "brute force" method of figuring it out; turning each mod off one at a time to see if the crash still happens, and if so, you move on down the list until it stops, then turn all the mods except the one you turned off last and see if you can still play. Without a crashlog it's hard to know where your problem is, but that's the most straightforward way to get your answer; you know it's one of your mods crashing you, so you just need to figure out which one now.

Weapon debris is already off, the closest thing I have to alternate starts is SKKFastStartNewGame, and at this point I have resorted to brute force one-by-one testing. Of my 308 mods. This will take a while.

If you start with that one, you might check its comments and bug reports to see if that's one of its bugs. Always eyeball the obvious ones in their download and bug reports first before committing to disabling and retrying, easier on you :)

Okay, I'm starting to get an idea. T-49 Armor of the Storyteller, Heather Casdin, and much of the Thuggysmurf series seem to be triggering the issue. Could this be related to the fact that the crash logs I got when I was mucking my list into place seemed to be convinced Address Library wasn't installed, despite the fact that it is? I've unzipped the .bin files into F4SE/Plugins and also installed it through MO2, but the log - one I generated with the aop testing command - still insists it isn't installed.

I have now narrowed down the culprits: Tales from the Commonwealth, Fusion City Rising, Outcasts and Remnants, Heather Casdin, T-49 Armor of the Storyteller, The Machine and Her, Project Valkyrie, and Depravity. Which I used to be able to use! Could this be because of the Address Library issue, and if not...what do these mods have in common? I really, really want to be able to use them.

Ideas, anyone?

Check you base level mods again.

F4SE, F4EE, address library, etc.

Chances are you have a mismatched version (wrong game version).

Thanks to the NG update things are wonky, and you have to pay attention to game version numbers for files, as versions meant for NG are not backwards compatable.

Address Library, as I've already mentioned, I have installed - in the form of the All-In-One version - in three different versions - I've unzipped the .bin files into F4SE/Plugins, unzipped them into the root folder after seeing it mentioned online, and also installed it through MO2, but the log - one I generated with the aop testing command - still insists it isn't installed. I'm 100% sure my F4SE is the correct one for my downgraded version because I'm launching the game through it and I specifically installed the 1.10.163 F4SE version. F4EE is irrelevant since I don't have LooksMenu.

I have checked all my base level mods, and am 99.99999% certain none of them are mismatched. I genuinely think the Address Library issue is the problem, and wish I knew how to get it installed in a way that would be acknowledged by a crash log.

Just update to Next Gen Update 2...

Pretty much all mods are now updated, at least the main ones.

Only thing i'm missing is Extended Dialog Interface, Buffout4, Looks Menu, Transfer Settlements.

And I'm using XDI. And Buffout 4. And I don't want the Enclave content. And would that really allow me to use the mods in question? And I'm still not hearing ideas about why Buffout 4 isn't recognizing Address Library.

Don't mean to be a sarcastic choad, but I've heard nothing but bad things about NGU2 causing more bugs.

Is it serious? Really. Didn't it even appear that you slightly exceeded the switchable mode limit!? What if you could leave all the extraneous things out? Except for the esl and esm stuff? Let me tell you: it's an enjoyable, well-running game. Otherwise. Before exiting, it is FORBIDDEN to turn on mod things!

...What?

Are you trying to say the game is better vanilla? I genuinely have no clue what you're talking about. "Switchable mode limit"? What extraneous things? "Before exiting, it is FORBIDDEN to turn on mod things!"? What?
