Lol, so as you quest with various companions you eventually reach max affinity with the companion. This will grant you a special perk, but you'll also have the option to romance the character. Upon a successful romance that companion will become your lover and anytime you sleep near them you'll get a buff that grants extra experience points.
That being said Preston romance option always creep'ed me out. You calls you "baby' and it's just wrong.
Romance in a world where nobody has showered in years is just wrong. It's creepier that it's a dude, yeah. But even if it was a female I wouldn't choose the options. It's not something I care for in games. Not saying it shouldn't be there for people who are into that sort of thing. It seems forced though and that's what's creepy.
Just talk to him and tell him to follow you. I'd advise against it though.
