Grabbing KLEO's fatman in unusual ways

I know about the standard dragging it into a dark corner to steal but this was quite something.

I entered Goodneighbor and decided to deal with the bully Finn myself instead of leaving it to Hancock.

Being low level I used a pipe pistol with no perks. I didn't want to use anything too powerful in case I hit someone else. I got Finn down to about half health before he ran off to hide in Kill or Be Killed.

Imagine my shock and surprise when I saw Finn putting his hands on KLEO's fatman. He hid for a while but then came out with it. He was about to mini nuke me so I used a critical to the head. I forgot to change weapon first though, so he survived it (again, lowly pipe pistol. I was extremely worried now (probably should have quicksaved) and spammed VATS looking for a head shot. Luckily he was a bit stun locked. Eventually got him.

Not only did nobody go hostile but on checking his corpse both the Fatman and the mini nuke were not marked as owned but were green!

Anyway that's my story, if you have anything like that then do share it!

Good story. I usually just wait till Hancock gathers the crowd for his speech, then I just run around the corner and clean out the shelves.

you know at night you can turn KLEO off with robotics expert and openly grab the mininuke since Finn and any random npcs should be asleep at that time.

dogmeat could be used. dogmeat can also grab the cryolator from that locked case
