Military fatigues - Companions

After giving mil fatigues to a companion, it just vanished / did not appear in npc inventory.
Normal or bug? Iirc it also happened with road leathers and such...

Yeah, companions/settlers don't display the current base apparel in Inventory when “Equipped”. You can visually see it outside of Inventory, but sometimes I swap them out with something different just so I can check it has Ballistic Weave applied for example.

No. Only Equipped Clothes are not visible.
You can try giving them something else and equipping it, there may be a bug, but if not equipped, you should see it in inventory.

If you want to retrieve their equipped clothes, equip them with a piece of armor after having them wear clothes that don't allow armor to be worn over them.
