Starlight Drive-In Radiation Barrels Bug
Anyone else having problems scrapping the radioactive barrels in the pond at Starlight Drive-In? I've started two new playthroughs and both times I've had zero success trying to scrap them.

I've certainly scrapped them in the past several times but not recently, not since the updates.

Yeah this has been since the next-gen update. Interestingly, this bug popped up after they patched the update. Was working as intended previously.

I scrapped them without any problem. Sometimes you need to move around them to get them to highlight for scrapping. Your look angle seems to matter for some items on the ground at settlements.

You can always fall back on targeting them in console and eliminating them that way.

no problem with them in my newest run after the NG patch. seemed even less problematic than it was sometimes years ago. back than it was all about viewing angles and sometimes even crouching was involved.

is there any other objects in starlight you selected but didn't scrap or store via the build menu? sometimes the game for some reason fixates on a specific object while said object is not on the screen while you are trying to select another object.

another thing worth trying is to crouch the game is a fair bit finicky about camera angle when placing and moving objects. i.e try to place something in a valid spot but the game says you can't because it doesn't like the specific angle you are viewing from.

Do you have any mods installed? A lot of mods change item reference ID's and traits. and this can occasionally cause things to not work in the way they're supposed to.

have yet to see this happen. post-update or otherwise.

If its a major issue, and you cant track down any mods or other issues causing it (verify file integrity maybe). You could try using console commands to delete settlement objects. You should save before doing so, and make certain you arent targeting the ground when disabling/deleting objects with console commands.

Ive started a save since nextgen update and scraped them no problem, so its either file corruption (again try verify file integrity) or mods... or cosmic rays...

Just tested it with the minimum amount of mods i am currently running and they where multiple tests salvagable without problems. So looks like a mod-problem on your side.

I started playing after the update and those barrels can be scrapped no problems.
