I cannot climb the ladder because of the STUPID animal tied to it! Therefore, I can't continue getting tech for the scribe. WHAT DO I DO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!????????????????????????????????????????????????????

Try reloading your save to before you took a mission from the scribe. I also had her try sending me there, just reload and get one that's closer. Got the Super Duper Mart in Lexington on the second try.

It's really dumb how far out they can send you for your first missions. I got Super Duper Mart and College Square the second time which makes WAAAY more sense.
