Help my saves are gone

I was playing and went on vortex to see a mod had a update, i downloaded the update after exiting to desktop and installed/ deployed it. i got back on to see that my saves are gone and the load option is not select able and i can only press new game (and all the other ones of course) and im really sad, i had one main charterer and more but i cant play any, so im asking if you know what i can do. (i had one backup thats oldish but idk what to do with it and i also saw a file thats empty with zXYhsQeEO as the name in my X:\Users\ (pc name) \Documents\My Games\Fallout4\Saves and idk what to do [btw i said just "(pc name)" becuase idk if thats important info] and i put days of play time into that main charterer PLEASE HELP. ;(

(edit) also it detected the pc spects automatically I will see if i can add a screeny (2nd edit) my saves in the mentioned thing above are not empty

TLDR:
I cant load any saves it only lets me press new game and in my X:\Users\ (pc name) \Documents\My Games\Fallout4\Saves i saw zXYhsQeEO file thats empty and dont know what to do PLEASE HELP

Have you checked one drive? It turns itself on and vacuum files. Seriously, it's creepy how it wants your data/files.

This has nothing to do with OneDrive.

The OP was fooling around with PROFILES in Vortex and most likely changed his default profile so it has it's own saves. Thats why he sees that "zXYhsQeEO" folder in his SAVE location.

His save files are still in the default Documents/My Games/Fallout4/Saves folder BUT the game is looking for them in Documents/My Games/Fallout4/Saves/zXYhsQeEO.

So dose this mean i can get my saves back or there not a lost cost and if so what should i do and thank you for all the help all of you but i dont use onedrive i used an external hdd
(edit) I also tried to delete that file (put it in recycle bin and emptied it) multiple times and it still comes back idk why this is happening and if it means anything i was using multi user on vortex.

(2nd edit) If it means anything i updated workshop framework mod from 2.0.9 version to 2.0.10 version aslo if its not to much of a bother would someone be willing to give me a detailed explinasion on what to do and so you know how much i dont know about pcs idk what a "OP" stands for so yea. (also i havent started another game all i have done is open the game go to main menu multiple times and one of the first times i did some reaserch and turned off pip boy auto saves and also if it means anything i have pip pad mod)

OP (this is YOU, the Originating Poster) , you quoted my response but did you even bother to READ it?

When you look in your SAVE folder, are there any files in there BESIDES the "zXYhsQeEO" folder??

Do these files have a file extension of .FOS ???

If the answers to both those questions is "yes", then THOSE ARE YOUR SAVE FILES

Move them into the "zXYhsQeEO" folder and your game will see them again.

That "zXYhsQeEO" folder is the ID number of the Vortex profile you're using. Thats why it keeps coming back after you delete it. Whenever you launch your game, that folder is re-created because YOU told Vortex to keep the saves associated with your profile separate and Vortex changed your ini file to reflect that.

You could also try editing your Vortex profile and deselecting that option to keep the saves separate. That should fix it too, UNLESS you WANT to keep the saves separate. If so, you'll need to move them as I stated above.

Lastly, disable Steam Cloud for this game since that could be messing things up too. Personally, I don't use it so I can't say for sure, but it's something to keep in mind.

Both are a yes (also i disabled steam cloud for fo4 as recommend) and i was a bit confused with the original post or quote of yours but now i think i understand. once i thought i understood i put all my saves in that folder and it worked and now i have the problem of i cant save and i think it would be annoying to clear that and put it back in constenly but i dont understand what you want me to do entirely with vortex if you could please tell me what i need to do because im confused as to what i have to do
