Its intended to be a replacement and a slightly different and expanded take on the vanilla survival mode, but it doesn’t require you to play in survival mode and nearly all of its features and mechanics can be individually toggled on/off and further modified to your liking.
Its got food, sleep, water, hygiene, and bathroom needs/management, a radiation/illness/injury system, fast travel, carry weight, and save restrictions, increased combat difficulty, a camping system, various items and consumables to support all its features, and even minor mechanics like Brahmin milking, basic fishing, wood harvesting from trees added by the mod, and a player-only farming system that allows you to plant, fertilize, water, and harvest your own crops without needing to assign an NPC to them.
It’s a really cool mod and what makes it awesome is that you can tailor it to what you want from it.
I was looking for a basic needs mod similar to Skyrim’s iNeed but for FO4 - something that added in a bit more immersion/realism/roleplaying but I didn’t want to use survival mode and didn’t want to use any mods that also made the game more difficult across the board or did things like restrict fast travel/saving/etc.
There is another mod out there called like Basic Needs or something but it’s old, was never finished, has been abandoned, and only works for vanilla items and consumables.
AN76 with its toggle-able features was just what I wanted and more - check it out for yourself, it may be what you’re looking for too.
@Fear2288 That 'Basic Needs' rings a bell although it was in my stored list but as it is broken I wouldn't bother with that now anyway. But that AN76 sounds just what I'm looking for.
I get fed up with Survival having played it for a long time and just want a laid back experience with being able to save and all the rest, Thank you for suggesting it.
