This is very helpful:

Never been enough of an issue to worry me or I'd look deeper into it.
The current "fix" is mods take one of the modeling layers of NPCs and use that slot to apply a fix that overwrites the blackness. Found that out when I had a conflict with one of the fixes I used and a looksmenu mod, the character wound up with no eyebrows because looksmenu updated and decided to use that slot being used for a fix.
So basically while these mods create a "fix" they are not addressing the core issue of the memory leak or cache not being purged.
While I appreciate the wanting to not be offensive people just do not think things through. When your NPCs faces turn black who the @#$% is going to search "character has rust face."
lol. I can't agree more.
Calling it `rust` is gonna cause more problems than just being straight to what it is.
And I'm black!
but...
Don't be scared of black when its in context.
or you could...
lower the resolution and you got minecraft
<--- minecraft
The game had been out for NINE YEARS and it had always been called blackface.
Even the mods the hid the error were called "black face fix."
Then all of a sudden out of nowhere in 2024 someone calls it rust face fix.
