Awful long loading times even with fixing mods
My fun in FO4 is on a very thin line since this game takes ages to load.
My Skyrim with 900 mods loads quicker than my Fallout 4 with 297 mods.

I already got the recommended ones like: High FPS Physics Fix, Long Loading Times Fix, Disk Cache Enabler, Private Profile Redirector, Fallout 4 Priority and all of "The Midnight Ride's" guide recommended mods, even adjusted the ini. it still takes forever.

The only really "large" mods I run are the Sim Settlement 2 chapter 1-3.
Others are mostly armor, weapons and fixes.

The game runs super smooth but the loading while entering or leaving an area is pain.

Running the game on a 1TB SSD.

A self-inflicted wound.
SS2 can take ages to load.
But 297 mods will just make things a lot worse.
If you want fast loading don't overload the cpu.

Load time is mostly dependent on fps. What fps do you get when loading?
9700F isn't that fast.
Using multiple mods trying to do the same things will be like "too many cooks". The only one that will make any big difference is the high fps physics fix, providing it is configured correctly.
Changing the Papyrus script settings might help. Does the high fps physics fix do that?

alt-tab while loading will have much the same effect.

/Have you tried running the game in Windows 8 compatibility mode?
EDGExRUNNER Jan 23, 2024 @ 10:07am
@hawkeye so you'd suggest I deactivate all except the High FPS Physics Fix?
It's weird since The Midnight Ride guide suggested all these mods in combination and it's always recommended to follow their guide on so many threads.
Maybe I'm just unlucky..
I also got the Boston FPS Fix, would you delete this one too?

I get around 58-60 FPS while loading, just tested it while playing for a while, out of loading I get almost permanently 60 FPS.
Which seems weird cause i thought I uncapped it, but maybe my CPU just cant give me more.

@PeaceMaker never tried this tbh.
Can't even remember if FO4 was running better when I still had Windows 7 instead of 10.

Try the mode. I did when my load times were super long and it made a huge difference. Might as well try. You do know how to do it, right?

There is a few fixes on the Nexus for load times that i use and they do help a lot. Make sure to read the requirements. They all work together just fine.

@PeaceMaker yeah I know how to, will try it later

@Fluffy_Llama you're not using the High FPS Physics Fix mod? Only those 3 for loading times?
EDGExRUNNER Jan 23, 2024 @ 2:04pm
Already using those 3 but it still takes long

in the high fps fixes ini did you disable the loading screen animations that setting alone made my loading times so much faster on a 10700k and same deal on a 13600k today. You didn't state how much ram u have too and what speed it is that will heavily affect cpu performance/load times.

yes I disabled that option and I got 16 GB RAM

Yeah its been an issue for a long time.

with my old ryzen 3 1300x and 1650 this game run smoothly no issues whatsoever other than the usual bethesda classic bugs.
with new computers rtx 3060 or 2080 and 5700x loading times are so dumb, takes like a minute or so to go out from any metro station, alt tabbin helps a bit but its annoying, for the record i havent installed any mod yet.

on a win10 machine with a 9700k, rtx 2070s, 32 gb ram and nvme m.2 ssd I was seeing minute+ load screens constantly until I installed Load Accelerator, then they were reduced to 4-5 seconds. never made use of the High FPS Physics Fix due to only having a 60Hz monitor. I have however since dropped Load Accelerator in favor of Long Loading Times Fix and still seeing about the same 4-5 second duration load screens.

And you got no other mod to do that too? Only the Long Loading Times fix?
I only use the high fps physics fix by itself and it has been working fine.
In the begining loadscreens where like 1-2 seconds. (10900KF, 64GB DDR4 RAM)
Now its been creeping back up to 10, 20 seconds as my savefiles get bigger and there are more of them (3000+ hrs of playtime)

So sometimes I go back to the windows button taking me to desktop and then back to FO4 to speed things up.

hm I disabled the HFPF mod now and only have Long Loading Times Fix activated to test that. After that i may only activate High FPS Physics Fix to see if it works better like this.
