Precisely. They produce a great light, but the reach is crappy. I removed all the lights from the house in DC, wanted to make it look all... posh, on account of me having like 50K caps, which is enough to buy the whole city. And I put 5 of the cieling ones that look like an upside down wedding cake, and it lit up the cieling greatly, but the room below was pitch black.
Yep. I have pictures on the wall of my bar, and I can't see a single one of them at night with these things as "light sources" unless I put them right on top of the paintings, which obviously blocks their view. Obviously we need a mod to increase the light range of these things.
I'm running vanilla, cause I have an aversion to Nexus Mod Manager...maybe when the GECK comes out...who knows...either way, this, and many other issues would be nice to have fixed in updates and DLCs.
Whats wrong with the mod manager? I've never had an issue with it.
Well, I don't know. Probably nothing. I just don't want to deal with it. Even though it's relatively easy. Just a personal choice.
Plus knowing myself, it would start out with more decorations, and ended up with a full world overhaul :D
I thought the pink flamingoes was the Wasteland Survival guide unlock? Decorating With Junk or something like that?
As for the lights, they are 'high tech' by 50's standards - just look at scifi from the era...
Apparently neon lights are coming with Wasteland Workshop (second DLC) and undoubtedly there are already mods which offer this too...
Personally I really want more military settlement items, like the prefab defenses you can find everywhere used by the BoS and Gunners. You can even find semi trailers filled with unused ones in certain places. I also want those trailers used for construction or mobile homes I think they would make perfect prefab style military/research housing units if they were painted right. It would be cool to build the wall/ceiling mounted turrets to.
Also if you complete the Cabot House quests you unlock the three paintings (Emogene, Jack, and the parents.)
The new signs were a really nice addition since most had to do with your stores.
