Driving myself crazy trying to "power up the signal interceptor" in the quest Molecular Level
I got all the parts successfully built. I got three large generators so there'll be enough power, plus an extra large generator just in case. The Reflector Platform has been successfully snapped into the Beam Emitter, which was a pain in ass to pull off, but I got it done (did you know that the Reflector/Emitter assembly can't be built on "floor" pieces, but can be built on "roof" pieces? Crazy, right?). I've wired it up so everything was connected to everything else, and by all accounts it should be working, but it isn't. I've removed all the wires and wired everything back together in a different way, and it still doesn't work. Tried more ways, didn't work.

I've found a half dozen different articles claiming to have found the "only known" "correct" way to wire it up, which is "guaranteed" to make it work, and every single one of them has a completely different "only known correct way" and none of them actually work.

Am I going crazy, did it just take this long for the in-game laws of physics to notice that people are teleporting and that sort of thing shouldn't be possible, or is there some way to fix this?

I drove myself crazy also. I watched a youtube video to see how mine was different. It has to deal with the placement of the pad and the thing that goes on top. Sorryit's been a few months. Seems like after I went to that part of the game I just lost all interest in fall out 4.

worked three times for me without a special trick, just wired it.

the only unusual i did the last two times was adding a switch between the generators and the other parts (because i wanted to buld it but not use it at that time).

No idea, I wired each generator to each other then the last one to the correct building.

a child could build one

Hopefully you aren't glitched. I only made it once but there were no problems. I only used the text explanation from the ♥♥♥♥♥ wiki.

It's kinda big so you have to be sure your settlement build limits arent exceeded.
I wired my generators to a short pole an then connected to the control panel thing, Then conected rest off the control panel.

I built and assembled it on a old house pad a Sanctary. Ran wire from first generator to second to third then to control box then to the pad and then to the satilite aray. Works for me every time.

its so simple even a mutant can build one out of scrap parts . Go Science!

seriously, i built a platform for it, then found out it wont snap-to on a platform.
built it on uneven terrain. it didnt like that..
built it on as even terrain as possible ( try Abernathy farm since it close, or Starlight Drivein since its flat)
The generators can be anywhere as long as you extend the reach with pylons or connectors,
all pieces of the transporter should be fairly close to each other to register a link, a 2x2 floor tile area for example

just build it at starlight drive in, so much space there even you can't ♥♥♥♥ it up !

I built 2 in different games. One on a conrete pad at sanctuary and another in Coastal village on the ground. I did not run my generators in series but a power cable to each (parallel).

I had to wire mine in the order indicated by the plans. Worked for me.
