I approached Covenant and all of a sudden after deciding to back out of talking to the gate guard, it opens automatically and i walked right in.
Trying to keep to the spirit of the story line.
I used the setownership command because I was unable to do or touch most things without Deezer and the turrets going hostile. I'm trying to make Covenant a useful settlement to use. But fearfull the turrets and Deezer would start shooting the settlers.
I have triple checked my triple check for a key to the gate. I'v even gone back to Compound yet again, trying to find a terminal or something that controls the gate. Mainly because of the camera's in the houses and at the gate.
Nice to see another gal on here.
Most tell me I shouldn't be, specially at my age. LOL
Hmmm... Seems like in your case your game might have glitched because they all came outside. When I went back to Covenant after doing "Human Error" Swanson was the only one waiting for me (probably because it was late and the rest were all in bed) and obviously was hostile. I killed him. Then went into Covenant and killed everyone in their beds. I wasn't sure if Deezer was going to be hostile but he was fine, as were the turrets.
