How do I completely reset Fallout 4?

Okay so I messed up alot when I was picking through my fallout 4 folders....now the game crashes everytime I play and I simply want to reset EVERYTHING to the point where I first got and installed the game....basically factory settings...

How do I go about this? I've tried the "delete local content" thing but it did not reset everything.

have you validated the files and deleted the folder in mydocs>mygames (or just the inis in there if you so desire)

Also delete the Fallout 4 game folder, if you've installed any mods.

My workbench in the castle is messed up it says that i am not allied to this faction and i have to use it to place down a generator to power up the recruitment beacon in the mission to reclaim the castle. please help

Your issue has nothing to do with this thread. Instead of hijacking it, just start your own.

Also, don't forget to delete all the ini files in Documents/my games/Fallout4/. After you reinstall the game, run it AT LEAST ONCE with the default Steam launcher. This will update the game's registry entries and also create a brand new set of ini files.

having same issues after getting new gaming pc now it loads after i click new game then about a min in crashes i did some modding on the old pc could that some how transfer code over and is effecting it and if so how do i reset the values back to stock i have the goty edtion
