Um, you all know about ballistic weave, right?
Once you get far enough along in the railroad quests, you gain the ability to upgrade some regular clothing outfits with ballistic weave. Its Tinker Tom that does it for you and I don't think it takes more than a couple of quests ran for him before you can buy it from him (and gain the ability to do the upgrades yourself on your own armor stations.

I just want to mention this because of the courser uniform. After using ballistic weave on it, and turning it into Armored Courser Uniform, the armor value is 140/125/15 (ballistic, energy, radiation), which is the best armor I've had (or seen) yet in the game other than the power suits themselves! Also, you can put ballistic weave into clothing items like dresses and suits and (with the best weave) get values over 100. You can give these too your companions and it really helps them out.

Anyway, just thought I'd mention it in case someone didn't know about it. I just discovered it finally playing with the railroad in my last run through. You will need high levels of armor trait to get the highest weave levels though (#5 is best).

Oh yeah, Ballistic Weave works with modded clothing such as the costumes found in the Suit Dreams mod. Yes,even the 'Naked' suit. Hey,it worked for heroes of ancient myths so why not the hero(ine) of far future sci-fi?

i had never heard of this. It encourages me to keep up with the railroad as i planned on doing this playthrough. Does it work on regular armor too? Do you need the armor perk to get it?

It only works on regular clothing, and you need the perk to use the better versions. Not sure why people are saying they need to use console commands to get it early. You can go join the railroad and do the Jackpot quests very early in the game, they aren't hard.

Works great on Maxxon's Battlecoat, makes it the 1st / 2nd best armor piece in the game besides power armor.

I would like to do that myself I just hate using console commands.

Well the way I see it the first couple ranks of ballistic weave should have been available. Leaving the higher ranks locked behind the Railroad content.

Especially if you wanna do like I do an use it on your provisoners and maybe some settlers.

Yep, good old Toadwart, technically a troll peon and not an orc peon, but @#$% it, who cares :P

No content, especially not all important armor or weapon content, should have been locked behind Railroad content because the Railroad is a completely stupid and pointless organization run by the biggest idiot in Boston.

Can't speak for everyone but I like to take my games really slow, mainly I like leveling/building up in the starting portion of the map and slowly expanding out. Doing that without ballistic weave was easy with my military sniper build but I would like to start a new save as a science spec so I will be wearing a lab coat as soon as I get it. Which on the new survival I will probably be needing some ballistic weave, also need a mod that frees up armor slots for the labcoat no idea why it can't equip armor pieces its light enough.

Although hopefully with automatron my robot minions will soak up plenty of damage for me, can't wait to see if you can give assualtrons weapons like mini guns or sniper rifles or give them arms from a sentrybot.

Im like level 78 now and haven't found the glowing sea yet. I can't quite really say what I have been up to in game besides making settlements of women in underwear with guns and baseball bats for weapons and sacks for their headgear. Disco balls, strobe lights, spotlights and stuff.

The ghoul ladies generally stand guard.

None of this is helping progress the storyline, but my character is single and wanting babies or something. I am not sure how that relates to my killing most things and enslaving the rest.
