Follower Distance
I've looked for a mod for this but have yet to find one. My followers get way too close to me for comfort, oftentimes they're shoving me forward as I'm walking down the road. Or if I'm trying to line up a sniper shot they'll just step in front of me and stand there blocking my view.
Is there console command I can use to tell them to keep like a meter or two distance from me at all times?

I could tell them to wait over in one location but that doesn't solve the issue of them pushing against me as I'm walking along a road or their insistance on sticking to me like glue. I just want some personal space.

You can't yet, FO4Edit can't modify AIPackages and create new ones / Papyrus which is used to copy over an ai package to an npc and perform a package evaluation.

In theory: No, not yet.
When? When the dang CK is out, hold your horses

They need to implement the companion map markers New Vegas had.

I've been using this mod and it helped some, it's not prefect but I find that I can move the companions a little easier. Doesn't do anything for them jumpin in front of my guns and getting their head blown off though

i've found something of a fix.
While it can't stop companions from running into your line of fire it has stopped them from running into me and shoving me forward.

Using the console I adjusted their speed to be about 5 points below my mine. This way they won't continuously run towards me, slam into me then have to back up.

Seriously if any of them had the Pain Train Perk I'd have been killed several times over.

Dog meat is always either to far away or to close.

I'm having quite the opposite issue... they are barely keeping up with me. At launch, they were always right next to me. Now they're miles away, getting stuck by even the tiniest branches.

You have no idea how many times I burned Clover into a pile of ashes with my metal blaster, in Fallout 3.

One problem I have with Dogmeat is that he always tries to walk ahead of me, there are times when I try to disarm mines or loot and he just got into the way making me talk to him instead of activating the mine!

If you are crouching he does it less.

Found Nick to be the least problematical. Never seems to block sniping or get in my way except when doing "house keeping" activities in tight settlements. Never a problem while trekking but am buffed to walk faster.

Nick has a real issue with heights. Leave him on the ground and throw loot down to collect later.
