The vertibird takes me to the airport instead of Fort Strong . The pip boy still says 'board the vertibird " ? Anyone else ?

Went back to prydwen , another virtiberd shows up , has the icon to show me to board , yet won't let me board it. This is my third run through . The first time I flew in to Fort Strong amd was shot down , started the battle . My second run through I had to walk in from the airport , looks like I'm walkin in again .

Is the quest icon waaay at the top of that vertibird on the blimp? I think that it is actually pointing toward the vertibird on the ground, but somehow it "wraps around" vertically the same as it does horizontally

When you are on the blimp, look at the ground and you should be able to see the 2nd vertibird on the ground near/on the ocean (NOT the one on the pad)

UPDATE:
reloaded an earlier save, before this mission, played up to re-start this mission, and this time there was a 2nd vertibird, on the right as you came away from meeting with Elder Maxson.!!!!

Previous time there was only the 1 vertibird on the left that took me to airport

So I guess this quest is still bugged, even after 4 patches!?!?!?!?!

Yes, this quest is buggaboo. I've played through five times, and had this quest bug out three times. Fast travel away and back, or a reload, or just finding the vertibird parked in the water and getting in has always fixed it though.

OK so I rebooted the game and the second vertibird showed up , had the icon but wouldn't let me board . rebooted the game , it let me board anf flew in to Fort Strong . BUG.

THAT is pretty screwed up!!
