What is going on in Canada during the FO Series?

Polar bears are the biggest bears, with Grizzlies being a bit heavier on average but not as tall. Polar bears tend to be more carnivorous than the Grizzly, and tend to be more dangerous. Hence why sled dogs are a good warning system outside an igloo in case a hungry polar bear happens upon you. Sometimes Polar bears cross breed with Grizzlies (due to climate change) making growler bears, which tend to be a golden furred, heavier, hump backed, polar bear that loves meat more than berries. They can be quite large from what I have heard.

Polar Bears have been coming further south due to habitat loss. Grizzlies and brown bears have been ranging more north due to milder conditions. When they mix you get a growler bear, or a pizzly.

So I imagine it would be a white and black (in the patches without fur since polar bear skin is black) Yao Guai, that only eats meat, is very good at swimming, and is bigger. So no more escaping into a pond to avoid a charging Yao Guai. I think an mutated Polar Bear deserves a special name, like a Frostback. A little emmegration humour is always nice and I am sure we Canadians can take a joke.

I apologize if this has already been mentioned, however from game sources we know that Canada is still populated in the Fallout universe.

I am pretty sure that B.C. is mentioned by a character in Fallout. I think Fallout Tactics mentions the Uprising of Edmonton at some point during a reinactment.

Canada was annexed by the USA for its oil and nuclear materials (which Canada actually has a lot of in reality). There was resistance, and the orginal fallout intro shows the execution of Canadian resistance members.

I would love to see a Fallout: Canada with mutated polar bears and moose.

They were British troops that were fresh out of the Peninsular war in Spain not Canadian militia.

Both of you are right actually. Yes it was British troops, British troops however at the time consisted of people from England AND its colonies. During the war of 1812 those that fought for the British (non commissioned) would have been a mix of English born who were posted to Canada, Canadian English who viewed themselves as British subjects (since French Canadians still viewed themselves as French and wouldn't have been in the British army) Colonists from other colonies who joined the regular army who considered themselves British. And the decendents of loyalists who fled the 13 colonies when the U.S won its war of independance.

Officers were primarily British born and would have come from from wealthy families who could buy commissions as officers in the British army (it was rare in those days for someone to rise through the ranks)

Also Canada didn't exist as its own country until 1867 when Queen Victoria granted us independance, though we were a commonwealth and still tied to the British empire. Which is why we fought under the British in WW1. So anyone who fought against the U.S viewed themselves as British first and wherever they came from second.

However its also considered a Canadian victory (burning the Whitehouse and stopping the U.S) invasion because not only were there Canadian born British subjects fighting in the British army, but also Englands Native American allies who helped who were the first true Canadians.

Either way it's a war that happened a long time before any of us were born. Both countries are great in there own way so getting into some pissing contest about which country sucks is pointless and stupid because the reality is we both need each other

OK but can anyone tell us WHAT the War of 1812 was about? Why did britain attack the States again? The answer is with the Central bank of the United States. It was granted a 20 year charter in 1791 as were all non-persons or...corporations. Every 20 years, Congress (US) was supposed to either extend, renew the charter or end the authority of the entity. Guess what...they missed by 1 vote in 1811 to renew the charter. The Rothschilds, who owned the central Bank of England forced war upon the States to force Congress to renew the charter (of his bank) to finance the defense of the States. Simple plan, lots of dead people, international bankers got filthy rich. So now all you Lymies and Canucks can pound your chests all you want, you did it so a single family can own the world. Thanks. I had a idea for a mod/dlc awhile back where you could go to Canada and find a large area controlled by a computer that used to run as a Fallout version of Running Man. Basically using citizens from annexed Canada taken from protests, riots and even pow's and used as contestants in gladiatorial games. Before the bombs dropped it was already fully automated with a computer host.

Really it would just be fun to have raiders with bladed hockey sticks.

Canada gets annexed by the U.S. because fictitious PM Tustin Jrudeau turns all your military bases into refugee camps. But it's not like that could happen in reall ife.

This has been answered already by the devs themselves. And the previous devs too. Fallout is about post-war America. It always has been. Its about what happens when America (and for some reason no one else) doesn't invent the transistor and the repurcussions of the lack of advances in computing but in increased advances in Nuclear energy. All sandwiched between a cold war with Communism that lasted 100 years longer than it did in our time and the impact that war consumption costed. And finally how China and America effectively destroy the world. Its about America because in this universe only two countries mattered. China and the US. And people write what they know.
