Some don't "clear" but respawn instead. If it is able to be cleared but is still not, then you still have at least one enemy to kill remaining.

Some will never clear. Most, but not all, cleared places afer some time not visiting them.

"Clearing" can often be accomplished by killing one specific enemy without needing to actually eliminate all. For instance, in Gunner Plaza, the specific enemy is in the recording studio room -- it is possible to technically "clear" it without entering the basement at all.

Honestly can't say. I am curious whether Unofficial patches will do something about it, but I noticed that some placed cannot be CLEARED at all, while other places which were CLEARED before, get respawned enemies and then you lose the Clear mark.

Hold on... There's a basement? I've been there several times, and never found it... o.O

Usually means that a quest has been completed, but not always but some will respawn like Andrew Station etc.. Also smaller side quests may need to be completed like kidnapping etc. as well.

From what i know, every place should respawn after a while.Cleared just mean you went there once, its to help to player to figure out if you been there before or not. This way to can keep track of special loot or bobble head unless you didnt take it.

I have cleared many places ,and still shows cleared on my map , only to go back an find more raiders or mutants inhabiting the place . Makes sense to me , they move around and try to find a place to make their own .

Well its a good thing because a lot of repeatable quest end at the same place. You need so much xp after you hit lvl 60...

Side quests do repeat and get so boring . kill the courser at ,,,,,,, go there , same two synths , same courser with the steth boy etc etc sheeze .

Just because a place is "cleared" doesn't mean enemies cannot respawn. They can and do. Same as in Skyrim. If you wait an appropriate amount of time and return, at least most of them will have enemies again. Perhaps fewer in number, but enemies nonetheless. Hell, I have returned to Sunshine Tidings Co-op long after I brought civilization (if you can call those lazy, house-side pounding, can't even make their own beds, whiny settler bastards civilized) to the place, only to find that the mutant insects were back. Don't think the ghouls respawned, though.

Lowest level, only accessible by elevator AFAIK, has lots of catwalks and pipes? I think of it as a basement as it's lower than ground-level entrance, anyway.

I thought 'Cleared' meant you got all the 'special' loot. (books, bobbles etc)
